Meet Adrianne Palicki — TV's New Wonder Woman!

The ‘Friday Night Lights’ star is trading in her hall pass… for a golden lasso of truth!

For the record, I realize it may sound silly putting “meet Adrianne Palicki” in my headline, but the truth, is not everyone is as familiar with the actress as they should be. is reporting that Adrianne, 27, has been cast in NBC’s highly anticipated Wonder Woman pilot. (Here’s hoping Adrianne doesn’t get dizzy easily — because there’s a whole lot of spinning around in her future!)

Although Wonder Woman — real name “Princess Diana of Themyscira” — is Amazonian in origin, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing too much of her Greek life. TVLine describes her as an “L.A.-based vigilante.”

Adrianne will reportedly juggle three separate roles in the new series: the actual crime-fighting Wonder Woman; billionaire CEO Diana Themyscira; and the CEO’s assistant, Diana Prince. (Don’t feel bad if you’re confused — we all are.)

But here’s a good sign: Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman on TV from 1975 to 1979, gave her tweet of approval as soon as she saw the news break online: “Congratulations Adrianne!”

Guess you aren’t very familiar with her. Her character was not a cheerleader on FNL, so she doesn’t need to “trade in the pom poms.”

I wrote that quickly and was corrected by my co-worker. Give. Me. A. Break.
