"I'm Asian American and …" premieres on Myx TV tonight at 8/7 central. The show focuses on those who do not fit the model minority Asian American stereotype. Each episode features the lives of different people and their experiences. The premiere episode focuses on comedian and performance artist Kristina Wong, tired of men fetishizing Asian women, as she gets her “reparations for ‘Yellow Fever.'” Using her crazy reality docu-soap-star alter ego, Kristina goes on dates with unassuming men, as she convinces them to do unthinkable things just to see how much they'll put up with to date an Asian woman. The 10-episode reality series, shot in and around Los Angeles, is executive produced by Valerie Chow and Stephen Goetsch ("I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant," "The Chef Jeff Project") of Thirsty Tiger Television.
