Don’t pack your whites away after Labor Day! We saw the trend on so many runways, including Yves Saint Laurent. Try the trend with this:
Ann Taylor Lace V-Back Sheath Dress, $138
From army greens to detailing on jackets and boots, the military-inspired theme was all over the fall runways, including Tommy Hilfiger’s.
BCBGMAXAZRIA ROYCE COLOR-BLOCKED MILITARY JACKET, $298
The high slit:
After her infamous Oscar pose, Angelina Jolie must be lusting after all of the thigh-high slits on the runway! Here, you can see a severe slit from Jason Wu. While sometimes a dangerously high slit may be a bit much, you can still rock the trend in a more modified manner.
Victoria’s Secret Double Slit Maxi Skirt, $39.50
It isn’t just about the edgy motorcycle jacket anymore! From chic sheaths to skirts, tops and pants the luxe fabric has been crafted into virtually every silhouette and in a slew of shades. Here, you can see a dress on the Monique Luhillier runway.
ASOS Mini Dress with Leather Panels, $144.76
To balance out the leather trend, we also saw delicate lace come down the runway. While the feminine trend has been around for a few seasons, it’s still so chic — and perfect for holiday dressing! I like the idea of mixing leather and lace this season.
Piperlime Juicy Couture Lace Dress, $298
From dresses to jackets, the runways, (including Michael Kors) were mad with plaid. A blazer is great for layering and can easily be dressed up or down.
H&M Blazer, $59.95
In different prints and textures, this standard silhouette gets a fresh update this fall, like it did on the Rag & Bone runways.
Topshop FLORAL JACQUARD BOMBER JACKET
In a slew of cuts, colors and patterns, the trouser pant is back in a big way — and it isn’t just about what to wear to work! Dress up the trend with a killer pair of pumps and a sexy blouse for a night out. Here, a pair of winter white pants are displayed on the Proenza Schouler runway.
J. Crew PIPED TROUSER, $158
Red dresses seemed to rule the runways. The show-stopping color is a great way to stand out this season. Whether you opt for something feminine and ethereal, like the look on the Marchesa runway, or you prefer something more classic you can’t go wrong in the shade.
French Connection LORI LACE JERSEY FLARE DRESS, $148.00
The textured look is back in a big way, storming a slew of runways, (including Chanel). I like the look because it’s a great way to add a trendy vibe into your work wardrobe.
