Having a baby was the highlight of the year for a lot of celebrity moms — including Amy Adams, Bethenny Frankel, Padma Lakshmi and Celine Dion. We’ve had a blast reporting on their motherhood milestones. Take a trip down memory lane with out as we relive the births of these famous little ones!
Adam Adams opted out of the epidural when she gave birth to her daughter Aviana, with fiance Darren Le Gallo, in May. Now the 36-year-old is already thinking about the future. “I want her to feel that she has her own identity, and her identity isn’t caught up in what I do. That’s really important for me. I want to be a good mom. I think a lot about what it’s going to be like for my daughter to have an actress as a mother,” she says.
Reality TV darling Bethenny Frankel, 40, went into labor with daughter Bryn a few weeks earlier than expected. “She’s absolutely beautiful and she’s so sweet,” she gushes about the little girl who weighed just 4 pounds, 12 ounces and was named after her daddy Jason Hoppy‘s deceased brother when she was born in May. “She’s a doll.”
Eric Dane‘swife, Rebecca Gayheart, says that giving birth to daughter, Billie, in March was “probably the greatest moment in my life thus far.”
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi was pleasantly surprised to find out she was pregnant after being diagnosed with endometriosis. “She was a total surprise blessing to me,” the 40-year-old coos about her daughter, Krishna, who arrived in February. “Everything is better with her around.” Krishna’s dad is businessman Adam Dell.
Matthew McConaughey‘s family got a bit bigger when his girlfriend, Camila Alves, 28, gave birth to their daughter, Vida, in January. “We are truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family,” Matthew, 41, blogged. “The future looks bright as the family grows.”
First-time-father Mario Lopez can’t stop singing the praises of his girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, 28, because she handled labor like a champ. “She was so tough and so strong during the whole thing,” Mario, 37, revealed just moments after the September birth of their daughter, Gia. “This beautiful baby girl… she’s precious. I woke up this morning as a regular guy. I’m going to bed tonight as a father.” Aww!
Celine Dion endured years of IVF treatments before finally getting pregnant with twin boys. “They’re so cute, it’s incredible,” the 42-year-old gushed about her and Rene Angelil‘s sons Eddy and Nelson, who were born in October. “When we look at them we can’t believe it, and to have them here at home – it’s all we could wish for.”
Christina Milian, 29, has been enjoying spoiling her daughter, Violet, since her birth in February. “She is the cutest. I think she’s a girlie girl. She has about 60 pairs of shoes,” the singer, who split from her husband The Dream just before Violet’s birth, tells HollyBaby.com.
James Van Der Beek‘s wife Kimberly Brook, 28, had a rough labor with their daughter Olivia, who was born in September. “The labor was tough, but you forget about it the second they put her in your arms,” she says. “I’m under her spell,” adds James, 33.
Singer Robin Thicke is worried about being a hands-on dad since his wife, Paula Patton, 35, gave birth to their son, Julian,this spring. “My biggest fear is being able to be there, because I don’t know if kids ever think their parents were there enough,” Robin, 33, says.
Claudia Schiffer, 40, welcomed her third child with husband Matthew Vaughn, 39, in May. “I love being pregnant. You can do whatever you want,” she said shortly before giving birth to daughter Cosima.
Joey Lawrence is outnumbered by the ladies in his house because wife, Chandie Yawn-Nelson, gave birth to their second daughter, Liberty. “We’re extremely happy. The baby is beautiful and healthy,” the 34-year-old says.
