Tia Mowry (born Tia Dashon Mowry on July 6, 1978 in Gehlhausen, West Germany) is an American actress and model. Tia’s father was stationed at a West Germany army base when she and her identical twin sister, Tamera Mowry, were born. Tia and her sister began their entertainment career while entering talent shows while their family was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. When Tia was 12 years old, she and Tamera convinced their family to move to Los Angeles so they could pursue acting. After a noted appearance on Full House, Tia and Tamera were given their own show, Sister, Sister. After the sitcom ended, Tia studied psychology at Pepperdine University, studying humanities and Italian in Europe. She returned to acting by joining her sister for the Disney Channel Original movie, Twitches and its sequel, Twitches Too. Tia had the starring role in the BET series, The Game. In 2011, the Style network began airing Tia & Tamera, a reality show. Tia put her musical skills on display in the 2012 holiday musical, The Mistle-Tones. That year, Tia published her first book, Oh Baby: Pregnancy Tales and Advice From One Hot Mama To Another. In 2013, she landed a lead role in the Nick at Night comedy series, Instant Mom, and in 2015, she was given her own show on the Cooking Channel, Tia Mowry at Home.
