In 2009 Jay-Z signed her to Roc Nation, and in 2012 she released her debut album, Ora, which shot to number one in the UK. She had three number one singles, making her the artist with the most number-one hits on the UK Singles chart that year. She was nominated for three awards at the 2013 BRIT awards, including the award for the Best British Breakthrough Act.
