Morena Baccarin (born on June 2, 1979 in Rio De Janiero ) is an Brazilian actress.When Morena was seven, her journalist father was transferred to New York City so she and her family moved to Greenwich Village. Morena met her future Homeland co-star Claire Danes while attending the same public school. Morena would be admitted into Julliard, where she enrolled in the school’s Drama Division. She landed her first role in the movie Perfume (2001), before being cast as Inara Serra in the cult science-fiction drama Firefly. She would reprise the role in the movie, Serenity (2005). After a handful of additional television roles, she would be cast as Adria in the science fiction drama, Stargate Sg-1 in 2006. Morena would join the cast of Homeland in 2011. Her performance on that series would earn her nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series in 2013. She currently portrays Dr. Leslie Thompkins on the television series Gotham, and has been cast as the character Vanessa in the upcoming superhero movie, Deadpool.
