Bio:
Martin O’Malley (born Martin Joseph O’Malley on January 18, 1963 in Washington D.C.) is an American politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He served as the mayor of Baltimore from 1999 to 2007. He was elected as the governor of Maryland in 2007. He served as governor until 2015. He was named a Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School visiting professor after leaving public office. While he was governor, he signed a law that would allow some undocumented immigrants eligible for in-state college tuition. He also legalized same-sex marriage in Maryland. Martin announced on May 31, 2015 that he would be seeking the 2016 Democratic nomination for the presidency.

Martin is best known for being the governor of Maryland from 2007 to 2015, and his accomplishments during his tenure. He is also being recognized for being competition for Hillary Clinton in the race for the 2016 Democratic nomination.
Personal Life:
Martin married wife Cartherine “Katie” Curran in 1990. They have four children: Grace, Tara, William and Jack.
