“I only really watch my own films, I don't watch any other films and I don't particularly like any other actors.”
“God, no. I don't do any of that shit [partying with celebrities]. I've got a stag weekend coming up and I've said I'm not doing anything more than a few drinks. I won't have it. I'll go home and watch 'Antiques Roadshow.'”
Martin Freeman (born Martin John Christopher Freeman in Aldershot, Hampshire, England on September 8, 1971) is an English actor who rose to fame playing the mild-mannered Tim Canterbury on The Office. He grew up outside of London with his parents and four older siblings, and lost his father at the age of ten. He began acting at a young age, enrolling at the Central School of Speech and Drama and appearing in several productions at London’s National Theatre before being cast in the career-defining role of Tim (AKA the UK’s Jim) in The Office. It was all good news from there — Martin appeared in Love, Actually, Shawn of the Dead, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in the early 2000s, then reached mainstream status when he was cast as John Watson opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock on, well, Sherlock. He also plays the leading role of Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy.
