Kyle Jean-Baptiste (born in Brooklyn, New York on Dec. 3, 1993) was an American Broadway actor. He made his career debut in Broadway’s Les Miserables. He was the youngest actor at 21 and the first African American to play Jean Valjean in the musical. He also performed in regional shows like Singin’ In The Rain, The Music Man and The Merry Wives of Windsor. He died on Aug. 29, 2015 after falling four stories from his mother’s fire escape. He was expected to appear in Broadway’s The Color Purple with Jennifer Hudson in 2015.
Best Known For:
Kyle is best known for play Jean Valjean in the Broadway adaptation of Les Miserables. He was the youngest actor and the first black actor to ever play the role.
