Kashif Saleem (born Michael Jones in New York on Dec. 26, 1956) was an R&B singer, songwriter and producer. He changed his name from Michael to Kashif after studying Islam. He’s best known for producing hits for Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and more. He was 6-time Grammy nominee. His biggest R&B hits were a remake of the Mother’s Finest song “Love Changes,” “I Just Gotta Have You (Lover Turn Me On),”Personality” and “Baby Don’t Break Your Baby’s Heart.” Kashif was found dead in his California on Sept. 25. He was 59 years old.
