Bio: Joanna Newsom (born in Nevada City, California on January 18, 1982) is an American indie singer-songwriter. She plays the harp, as well as the piano. Her music has been described as a mix of folk, avant-garde, and psychedelic pop. She has released three albums — her most recent, Have One On Me, was released in 2010 to massive critical acclaim and was featured in the year-ending Top 10 Albums lists of Pitchfork, the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. Aside from her music career, Joanna has made television appearances performing on Austin City Limits and acting on Portlandia.
