Jessica Lange (born Jessica Phyllis Lange on April 20, 1949 in Cloquet, Minnesota) is a multiple Oscar and Emmy award winning actress. She also has several Golden Globes and a SAG award. Lange has worked in theater, and made her Broadway debut in A Streetcar Named Desire in the 1990s as main character Blanche DuBois. As an actress, Lange had major roles in the films Big Fish, Tootsie, Cape Fear and The Vow. She currently stars on the television series American Horror Story.

In the 1980s, Lange was with playwright Sam Shepard. They have two children, Hannah Jane and Samuel Walker. Lange and Shepard separated in 2009. Lange has also been a foster parent. As an activist, she is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.
