Guy Charles Clark (born November 6, 1941 in Monahans, Texas) is an American Country and Folk singer. Guy was born and raised in Texas and found fame after writing the songs, “Desperado’s Waiting for a Train” and “L.A. Freeway.” He also won the Best Folk Album Grammy in 2014 for My Favorite Picture Of You. He has written hit songs for numerous artists, including Johnny Cash, Brad Paisley, and Alan Jackson.

Personal Life:
In 1972, Guy married fellow songwriter Susanna Clark. The two were married for 40 years, until she died tragically from cancer in 2012. He has one son, Travis Clark, with his previous wife Susan Spaw. Guy died after a long health battle on May 17, 2016.
