George Zimmerman (born George Michael Zimmerman in Manassas, Virginia on October 5, 1983) was the neighborhood watch coordinator for The Retreat. On February 26, George shot and killed Trayvon Martin, 17, after following him because of suspicion. The following turned into an altercation, and resulted in George pulling his gun and shooting Martin. After a complicated and emotional trial, the jury revealed that they found George Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder or manslaughter, and that he shot Martin out of pure self defense. Since, there has been protests all around the nation.
