Bio:
David Sweat (born David Paul Sweat on June 14, 1980 in Binghamton, New York) is an American felon, known for his escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in June 2015. As a youth, David was a problem child. When he was 9, after a year of being bullied, David brought a butcher’s knife to school. When he was older, his mother sent him and his brother to Florida in hopes of straightening them out. However, David stole his aunt’s car and wrecked it. David spent 19 months in a Buffalo Corrections facility as a teen, after committing second-degree burglary. David was convicted of murdering Deputy Sheriff Kevin J. Tarsia in Kirkwood, New York in September 2003. David reportedly shot the deputy 15 times, before running him over. David was transferred to Clinton Correctional in October 2003. David and fellow prisoner, Richard Matt, made an elaborate escape from the maximum security facility on June 6, 2015. The duo used power tools, smuggled to them from the outside, to dig their way out of the prison. 20 days after the escape, cops shot and killed Richard in Franklin County, New York.

Personal Life:
David has an older sister. Both he and she spent time in foster care and David spent time in a group home. Prior to his escape, David would write letters to his mother every week. David has a “REBEL” tattoo on his left arm and his right hand fingers have the tattoos “IFB” on them.
