Bio:
David Canary (born David Hoyt Canary on August 25, 1938 in Elwood, Indiana) was an American actor. David grew up in Massillon, Ohio. While attending the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship, David discovered his passion for performing. He trained to be a singer and graduated with a degree in music. David turned down a chance to play for the Denver Broncos for a chance to move to New York City to be an actor. After a two-year sting in the United States Army, he relocated to Los Angeles, scoring a semi-regular role on the prime time serial Peyton Place. His breakout came in 1967 when he joined the Western series Bonanza. After leaving the show in 1970 (he would return in 1972) David appeared on numerous television shows like Kung Fu, Police Story and S.W.A.T. His career enjoyed a revival in 1984, when he joined the cast of All My Children, playing two characters – identical twins Adam and Stuart Chandler. He would stay with the program until 2011, returning for its finale in 2013. He won five Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor. David passed away on Nov. 16, 2015, from natural causes. He was 77.

Personal Life:
David married actress Julie M. Anderson in 1965. They had a daughter, Lisa Canary, together before divorcing in 1971. In 1982, David wed Maureen Maloney. They had two children together – a son named Chris and a daughter, Kate. He studied karate under Chuck Norris. His brother, John Canary, is also an actor.
