Alan Young (born Angus Young on Nov. 19, 1919, in North Sheilds, England, UK) was English-Canadian-American actor most famous for his role of Wilbur in the hit 60’s sitcom Mister Ed, featuring a talking horse. He was also the voice of Scrooge McDuck in the kids hit cartoon DuckTales. Alan appeared in and voiced for several TV shows over the course of his career. Prior to Mister Ed, he had his own show called The Alan Young Show, which won several Daytime Emmy awards. Sadly, Alan passed away at age 96 on May 20, 2016.

Personal Life:
Alan was born in England and moved to Scottland, then Canada by the time he was 6. He fell in love with radio when he was stuck in bed with asthma as a kid. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy for a while, before he began the hit show The Alan Young Show. He was married three times, and has four children. After his third wife died in 2011, he moved into the Motion Picture and Television Fund campus in Woodland Hills, CA, where he died on May 20, 2016.
