After graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in film, Russ worked production at the premiere commercial production company Hungry Man, in NY & LA. Following that, he was involved with multiple productions that included such shows and films as Big Love, Without A Trace and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian to name a few. He then turned his sights towards producing as he produced TMZ on TV. While reporting for TMZ.com, Russ broke some of the biggest entertainment stories around for the three years he was with them. Russ then worked for Radar Online before settling at HollywoodLife.com.
