Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean’ Is A Number One Song: Fastest iTunes #1 Ever – Hollywood Life

Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean’ Breaks Record To Be Fastest Single To Reach #1 On iTunes

Never doubt the power of Justin Bieber and his Beliebers. Justin released his new single, ‘What Do You Mean,’ on Aug. 28 and the track quickly reached the top of the iTunes charts. It even beat the prior Fastest Song To Reach #1 record by five minutes! It’s not surprising that "What Do You Mean," the newest single from Justin Bieber, 21, is number one on the charts. Justin has multiple platinum and gold records for singles like "Baby," "Boyfriend," and "Beauty and the Beat." However, how quick it took Justin’s song to make it to the top is amazing!

Reading Time: 2 minute

Sorry, One Direction. “Drag Me Down” might have set the record for Fastest Song to Hit #1 on iTunes, but Biebs’ “What Do You Mean” beat that time by five minutes! Justin’s new single took the top spot, putting The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” in the number two and three spots. As for “Drag Me Down,” it got dragged down to number 15! Yikes.

Considering how long Justin teased the new video, it’s no wonder it shot to the top of the charts after its release. Justin spent 30 days hyping the release of the new song with photos of stars counting down until its release. Celebs like Mark WahlbergEllen DeGeneres, Ashton Kutcher, Usher, Ariana Grande, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner all posed with pictures that marked how many days until it dropped. Check out the gallery above to see them all!

Right before he released “What Do You Mean,” Justin teased the song with a black and white clip on Instagram, a preview of the lyric video for the chill new song. Nice. Though Justin was only in the video for a short time, he was shirtless — so you know that caused his fans to lose their minds.
