Is ‘Buckwild’ Coming Back For Season 2?

Viewers were shocked when Buckwild‘s Shain Gandee was found dead in his Ford Bronco on April 1, 2013, due to carbon monoxide poisoning. After his sudden death, MTV cancelled the series — which followed nine wild, young adults, enjoying rural life in the small town of Charleston, West Virginia — announcing that they “will not be moving forward” with production for a second season.

But that seems to have all changed! According to TMZ, the rural reality show is heading back to TV for round two.

The brand new episodes, according to TMZ, will follow an all-new cast, and are heading to Wasilla, Alaska for some more good ol’ fashion fun!

“Our sources say the concept is the same as before — lots of hooking up and fights — but with some insane new stunts,” TMZ reports. One of those stunts reportedly includes skinny dipping in ice-cold water, during an ice fishing trip. The new gang of free spirits will also engage in fun, yet dangerous, activities like snowmobiling and inner-tubing.

MTV Denies That ‘Buckwild’ Will Return

HollywoodLife.com reached out to MTV who denied TMZ‘s reports.

The network told us, “MTV is not bringing Buckwild back. That show was about a very unique group of young people who grew up and lived in West Virginia. MTV has a long history in documenting different slices of life – from Laguna Beach to True Life to Jersey Shore and Buckwild. Today, we are announcing a new half hour docu-series called “Slednecks” that follows a fun-loving group of friends living in the pristine and at times wild back drop of Alaska.”

HollywoodLifers, do you wish that Buckwild was returning? Or do you think that it would insensitive for the show to come back after Shain’s death?
