Actress Michelle Williams took home more than a 2019 Emmy for her work in Fosse/Verdon. She also found love with her director Thomas Kail. The 39-year-old four time Oscar nominee is engaged to and expecting a baby with her beau, according to PEOPLE. Thomas, 42, is quite the talent himself, as he won a Tony for directing the Broadway sensation Hamilton. Michelle is already a mother, as she has a 14-year-old daughter Matilda Ledger by her late boyfriend Heath Ledger.
Michelle is coming off her first marriage to musician Phil Elverum, as it was revealed in April that the pair had split up. The former couple wed in an intimate ceremony in the Adirondacks in 2018. She revealed the news in a cover story for Vanity Fair that July. “I never gave up on love. I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes,’” she revealed in the story, referring to her search for love after Heath died from an accidental drug overdose in 2008, even though the couple wasn’t together at that time.
Thomas is good friends with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, as not only did his friend tap him to direct Hamilton, he also directed Lin’s first Broadway musical In the Heights. He’s halfway to EGOT status, as Thomas has also won an Emmy for directing Grease: Live. One thing’s for certain, this baby is going to be crazy talented when it comes to the performing arts with Michelle and Thomas as parents.
Michelle is busy filming Venom 2 in London and she was spotted buying baby clothes at Seraphine’s maternity boutique in Kensington according to PEOPLE. Hopefully they’ll be able to let her costumes out a bit as the baby grows. She has three movie projects announced, including playing doomed astronaut Christa McAuliffe in The Challenger, but only one film in pre-pre-production, a thriller called Rio.
