The midterm elections are coming up on Nov. 6th and not only is it important to practice your civic duty and vote, but it’s also vital to have a voice in your home state. “In the last midterm election, only 40% of voters came to the polls. 40% of eligible voters showed up to vote. That means that your vote, if you do show up, is even more important because you’re having your voice heard, and you’re making a decision for these lazy people who won’t show up to the polls,” Broadway star and founder of Belt The Vote Rory O’Malley told HollywoodLife.com. “There’s always something on the ballot, especially locally, and everyone has different things in the states and depending on where you live. But we are electing a new House of Representatives. We are electing a lot of United States new senators. So, those are the lawmakers who will be deciding what goes on, all over the country for the next two years.”
