Somehow, more than a decade has passed since Liz Lemon first graced our screens, and we’ve thought up this superhard quiz to test your knowledge of how ’30 Rock’ began. Are you up for it?
Tina Fey‘s Mean Girls musical is premiering in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 31, and there’s never been a better time than now to look back on what is arguably her best work of art: 30 Rock. So how well do you remember the pilot episode of the beloved NBC show? Take our quiz below!
In case you’ve forgotten, nerds, 30 Rock‘s pilot premiered on Oct. 11, 2006, and it was written by Tina, who also created the whole show, starred as the lead actor, and served as the executive producer. That means she got three checks — what a genius, right? Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski starred as Jack Donaghy, Tracy Jordan and Jenna Maroney, respectively, and I dare you to name a funnier cast.
The final episode of the single-camera series, titled “Last Lunch,” aired on Jan. 31, 2013. Comedy fans wept, but understood that the show had to end before it jumped the shark. “I feel good. All things must come to an end, and I’ll be heartbroken to leave all these people, but it was time and the right thing to do,” Tina told TV Guide magazine upon the show ending. “We’ve told the whole story.” Okay, so when’s the reunion?
“If you want to see a great pilot, watch the first episode of Cheers. It’s charming, funny, and well constructed. If you want to see an awkward, sweaty pilot episode, watch 30 Rock. I will not be joining you because I never want to watch that mess again.” — Tina Fey, Bossypants
Listen up, fives! Take our quiz above and tell us — how’d you do?
