This is awesome! Freeform’s hit show Shadowhunters will kick off the second half of season 2 at 8/7c on June 5, and hours before the premiere, they made a super exciting announcement. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, 26, will be joining the cast as a guest star for two episodes this summer, according to Variety! What’s even cooler is that her boyfriend Dominic Sherwood, 27, stars as Jace Wayland in the show, so we’ll get to see them on screen together.
So far, there’s no word on what character Sarah will be playing, or when the episodes will air. However, we know that she will not be in the 2B premiere on June 5. Sarah was clearly thrilled for the big announcement the night before, tweeting “I CAN’T SLEEP I’M TOO EXCITED!” Fans immediately began welcoming her to the family online. We can’t blame the fans for being stoked, we are too!
Dominic opened up to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about his relationship with Sarah last season. “I’m not going to sit here and tell you that the relationship is without its hardships,” he explained. “I’m in Toronto and she’s in LA, there are times that it’s not easy for us because we want to be together, we want to spend every moment of every day together and unfortunately there are times when we just can’t do that so it’s not easy.” Well at least now they’ll get to spend some time on set together! And who knows, maybe Sarah will become a regular.
