Kendall Jenner is the fanny pack trend’s biggest supporter, and she continued her campaign to revive the trend, yet again, with her latest look, proving that the fanny pack is, in fact, BACK — but before we break out our belt bags we want to know: will you try the trend?
The fanny pack is having a moment, and Kendall Jenner, 21, is here for it. Sure, every few years the belt bag seems to creep back into our consciousness, but the revival of the 80s on the runway during the Spring/Summer 2017 collections ushered in the return of the trend in a BIG way. 2017 is totally the year to dust off the trend — and Kendall is serving up some serious style inspo with her twist on the style.
Kendall stepped out at Nobu for dinner with Gigi Hadid on May 31, where she served up the fiercest take on the retro mom trend in a floral-printed Eckhaus Latta turtleneck, a pair of high-waisted, cropped mom jeans, sneakers, and a quilted Chanel fanny pack, which she wore around her waist. The bag looked like it came right out of Kris Jenner‘s closet — and this wasn’t the first time she dominated the trend!
The model was spotted toting around the covetable Louis Vuitton Supreme fanny pack that was released thanks to the brand’s cool collab, and Kenny rocked it during Paris Fashion Week, as she served up an interesting twist on the trend, wearing it crossbody. Not only is Kendall a fan of the bag, but it seems to be a family affair, as we’ve also spied fanny packs on both Khole and Kourtney Kardashian throughout the years.
Hey, Kendall is totally onto something, and we’re so glad she’s reminding us all that it’s time to re-embrace the trend. Not only does she always look effortlessly cool when she incorporates the fanny pack into her major street-style looks, but there’s no denying the fact that the hands-free ease of wearing a belt bag is definitely ideal for shopping, strolling, and sight-seeing.
One thing’s for sure — it’s certainly not the same look of 80s soccer moms that seemed burned into our memory. While I’m totally ready to dust off my Gucci belt bag, what do you think of the trend? Will you rock a fanny pack à la Kendall?
