This just might be the hardest question of all time! Who do you prefer as Mary Poppins: James Corden or Emily Blunt? The late night host filmed as the beloved English nanny for his show while the actress has been starring in the movie sequel!
Just when you thought Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins was perfect, along came James Corden to take her bird umbrella away from her! The Late Late Show host took to the streets to film what looked like his always hilarious “Crosswalk The Musical” version of Mary Poppins. Obviously he starred as the lead, but was his look enough to dethrone the newest Mary? We wouldn’t dare add the original Mary, the iconic Julie Andrews, 81, into this already impossible question because that would just be cruel.
Emily, 34, definitely had the bigger budget look going for because she has been filming the movie Mary Poppins Returns. James, 38, has got to get points for nailing the costume too though. He really went for it with the makeup and hair, but he did have a few loose curls that peaked out. Emily’s hair was swept up on her head in an elegant bun hidden under her hat. Emily and James were both born in England so there’s no competition between who’s got the better accent
James’ hat looked more like Julie’s from the original movie, but Emily definitely had an upgraded headpiece. Her shoes were beyond adorable with slight heel that wasn’t too high to keep her from chasing kids around. James had to go the sensible route if he was filming his musical in the street so he opted for a comfy pair of black sneakers. Emily completed her ensemble with Mary’s legendary carpet bag, but James was also seen holding hands with two kids. Both kind of important to complete Mary Poppins’ image, but who to choose?
