She’s ready to tell HER side of the story. Hillary Clinton opened up about her new memoir which will detail her experience as the first woman to ever run for President of the United States, and we can NOT wait to read it! Here’s what she had to say.
Hillary Clinton, 69, is ready to share her experience with the world in an exciting new memoir due out in September 2017. Although she admitted the memoir has yet to be titled, she took the stage at BookExpo 2017 in New York City on Thursday, June 1, to share some details about what the book will entail. Not only is Hillary going to share how she perceived the 2016 election, but she’s going to open up about her devastating loss to current president, Donald Trump, and how she found the strength to keep going. “This is my truth, and people can disagree and guess what? They will, I’m sure,” Hillary said, to which the BookExpo crowd laughed. “But this is how I experienced being the first woman to break that barrier, get nominated, stand on a stage for debates, deal with all of the incredibly odd, bizarre happenings that were around.”
Hillary added, “And I’m very clear in that, I’m saying look, you may think you know what happened and you may be right to a certain extent based on what you’ve perceived and how you process it. But I’m gonna tell you how I saw it, and what I felt, and what I thought because you can not make up what happened.” Of course this got another laugh from the audience, because as we all know the 2016 election was not your normal political experience! We love that Hillary can joke about it, because that just shows how strong she is and how she’s totally bounced back from her loss.
As for why Hillary wanted to write another memoir? Well, part of it was obviously to tell her side of the story as she already mentioned, but the other part was to help her come to terms with the loss, move on and keep fighting the good fight. “Part of the motivation is not only it’s good for mental health, but I think it is also really important that we come to grips with what we need to do in the future as a country,” she explained. That’s exactly what we plan to do, Hill! Now give that memoir of yours a name and put it on our shelves so we can start reading ASAP.
