Things got pretty crazy at the end of the ‘Roseanne’ TV series, culminating in the tragic death of John Goodman’s character Dan Connor. Now that the show is being revived, will Dan come back to life?
Do you ever wish you could take something back? Well, it seems like producers of Roseanne will finally get that opportunity! Fans were devastated when Dan Connor, famously played by John Goodman, died at the end of the series in 1997. However, TVLine reports on May 19 that in the upcoming revival, he will be “very much alive”! But how is that possible? “They’re going to pretend like it never even happened.” Oh, okay.
The original series ended in one of the most insane twists in TV history. In the last episode, we learned that everything that happened in season 9 was a figment of Roseanne’s imagination while she was dealing with the tragic loss of her husband Dan to a heart attack. Him being dead isn’t the only crazy twist. Daughters Becky and Darlene also swapped boyfriends, the family never won the lottery, and Jackie turned out to be a lesbian. It was a lot to take in, and fans never really got the ending they deserved. However, now they might!
The series is set to make a mid-season comeback in 2018, when the 8-episode reboot airs. It makes sense that John will return to play Dan, since he appeared at Upfronts on May 16, and he’s long been a force pushing the revival. We’re so excited to see how everything plays out!
HollywoodLifers, are you stunned that Dan will survive in the new series, or do you think they shoulkd have to follow what happened in the finale? Let us know!
