Uh oh! Andi’s left shocked and embarrassed when her dad, Bowie, shows up unexpectedly at her ultimate frisbee practice and hits it off with her crush, Jonah, in this EXCLUSIVE preview of the May 19 episode of ‘Andi Mack.’
You know you’ve been there. When one of your parents comes to your practice or game and tries to take control and be friends with all your friends. That’s what happens in this EXCLUSIVE sneak peek of Andi Mack. Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) walks into the latest Space Otters practice to find her dad, Bowie (Trent Garrett), chilling with Jonah (Asher Angel) and the rest of her teammates. Bowie says he’s only there to see Andi play, but Jonah wants him to coach!
Andi is already mortified and things get even more awkward when she has to explain to Jonah that Bowie is her dad! Jonah doesn’t seem to mind. Bowie is now in the Cool Dads club in his eyes. Andi pulls her dad aside to chat. He reveals he’s a disc head, too! “It blows my mind how much we have in common,” he says.
Andi has to tell Bowie that he can’t stay at her practice. She says that none of the parents come to watch them play. Will Bowie listen to Andi and step back? We’ll just have to wait and see!
HollywoodLife.com also got some EXCLUSIVE quotes from the cast of Andi Mack, who tell us about the times their parents have accidentally (or not so accidentally) embarrassed them:
Asher Angel: “My parents love to embarrass me. Among other things, they love to dance, but they aren’t necessarily the best dancers. Despite this, whenever I am with my friends… my parents love to break out in full dance mode. It is really embarrassing, but at the same time it is great fun. I wouldn’t have it any other way. They really crack me up.”
Joshua Rush (Cyrus): “I love my dad, but the second he starts to get close to someone I know, he starts to beatbox raps about me, and whatever’s around him. The worst part? He’s got no rhythm and no rhyme. Sorry, dad!”
Sofia Wylie (Buffy): “For fun, sometimes my dad pretends to not know who we are when we are in the checkout line at the grocery store. He will say to the cashier that we are following him. It is really funny because sometimes the cashier actually thinks we are strangers who are following him. It can be kind of embarrassing!”
Andi Mack airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
