So devastating! The 18-year-old killed in the Times Square crash in New York on May 18 has been identified as Alyssa Elsman. The beautiful brunette was on a family trip to the Big Apple, and was walking with her sister when she was heartlessly mowed down my an ex-military man with a history of DUIs.
This is just so tragic. 18-year-old Alyssa Elsman was the only person killed when Richard Rojas, 26, drove his car into a crowd of people in Times Square on May 18. 22 others were injured, but Alyssa lost her life. She was visiting the city from her hometown in Michigan with her family, and was out exploring with her 13-year-old sister when her life was taken far too soon. Her sister was taken to the hospital, and her status is still unknown. See pictures of Alyssa, here.
Alyssa’s boyfriend Travor West revealed that he was terrified when she didn’t immediately answer a text from him, which was uncharacteristic of her. “She would always text me back as quick as she could and when I didn’t hear from her or her friend, I knew something horrible happened,” he told NYPost. “I knew something was wrong.”
According to Trevor, Alyssa was an amazing person. “She motivated me, loved me, gave me everything I needed that I couldn’t give myself,” he revealed. “And now that she’s gone, I don’t know how I’m going to fill that void. I don’t know how I’m going to function without her ever again.” Our hearts are breaking for Trevor and her family, and we can only hope that her little sister pulls through.
