Adam Levine still has an artist left to worry about on The Voice, but he took a few moments out of the tense competition on the May 16 episode to take the stage himself! The Maroon 5 frontman joined forces with Big Boi to give a rendition of their new song “Mic Jack,” and it totally took the edge off as we waited to hear more results. Obviously, it was a totally epic performance, with the crowd going absolutely wild to see The Voice coach doing his thing on stage!
“Mic Jack” was released in April, just one day after Big Boi confirmed that he’d have a new album coming out. While Adam is obviously still dedicated to his band, he has done some solo work on the side, teaming up with artists like Gym Class Heroes, R. City and, now, Big Boi, on hit songs. Meanwhile, Maroon 5 just released the songs “Don’t Wanna Know” and “Cold” in the last year, and fans are getting super stoked for the release of their sixth studio album, due out later this year.
Adam’s lone remaining contestant, Jesse Larson, is one of eight singers vying for a spot in next week’s Finals, but only four of the artists will make it. Unfortunately, Adam had two singers, Lilli Passero and Mark Isaiah, eliminated last week, so it’s all riding on Jesse to keep him in this thing!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Adam and Big Boi’s performance?!
