Actress Elle Fanning has been named the newest face of L’Oreal, the brand revealed on May 15. See why she’s partnering with the iconic makeup company below!
Elle Fanning, 19, is officially a L’Oreal girl, our sister site WWD first reported on May 15. She will make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival — L’Oreal has been the official beauty partner for 20 years. Elle says she has fond memories of the brand, since her grandmother wore L’Oreal lipstick: “When I was little, it was always so comforting — I just remember that L’Oréal lipstick smell,” she told WWD. She also loves that the brand celebrates and represents “women as a whole.” She says at age 19, she, and her fans, are “just discovering who you are. You’re still even discovering your style and what type of woman you want to be. It’s a crucial part of growing up. So to play into that area for [young girls] is what I am most looking forward to.”
Elle hopes to send positive messages through social media, especially geared towards millennials: “To have little beauty anecdotes or confidence-boosters, or something along those lines shared by L’Oréal, I think is a really crucial thing.”
Elle’s first ad will feature the Paradise mascara. Current L’Oreal women include Julianne Moore, Susan Sarandon, Andie MacDowell, Naomi Watts, Eva Longoria and Blake Lively.
