It’s been 12 years since Miley Cyrus first auditioned for ‘Hannah Montana,’ and when she paid a visit to Radio Disney on May 11, she got to relive the moment all over again. Check out her reaction to watching the audition tape here!
Miley Cyrus, 24, had a major case of #ThrowbackThursday on May 11! On the same day she released her new single, “Malibu,” the singer returned to her roots by stopping by Radio Disney for an interview. While she was there, she got to watch her Hannah Montana audition tape with the hosts and producers…and her reaction was priceless. Miley actually remembered the words to the song she sang at the audition, and was mouthing them out as she watched 12 years later. Of course, she cringed a little while watching her 11-year-old self, but made sure to laugh it off by pointing out some of the funny things she said.
The best part of the tape is toward the end, though, when the casting people ask young Miley if she has a record deal. “No, but it’s going to happen!” she quipped back, with tons of personality and attitude. At just 11 years old, she was already so confident and BORN to be in front of a camera, so it’s no surprise she was eventually cast in the Disney show’s lead role. Of course, this is what eventually jumpstarted her career, and although she had a major wild period for a few years there, she totally seems to be back to her old self now — so we love seeing her back at Disney where it all began!
Miley’s fans went absolutely crazy over the release of “Malibu,” which is about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth. The track is the first song off her upcoming record, although the title and release date for the album have not been released yet. We’ll be patiently waiting, though….
