Miley Cyrus’ upcoming new single ‘Malibu’ is about her man Liam Hemsworth — so it only made sense for him to play a part in the track’s cover art, right?! See the sweet tribute to Liam here!
On the artwork for Miley Cyrus’ new song “Malibu,” she looks totally fresh-faced and content, laying amongst the grass in a casual white sweater and gazing into the camera. Her left arm is draped across her stomach, and her engagement ring is the only piece of jewelry she’s wearing, so it’s totally on full display, too! It’s literally hard to take your eyes off of the giant rock, which Liam Hemsworth, 27, first gave her in 2012, and she started rockin’ again in 2016 when they got back together.
Wait, there’s an ever sweeter Liam connection with this artwork, though — he TOOK the pic! Miley uploaded it to Instagram on May 10, one day before the song’s release, and pointed him out in the caption as the photographer. How sweet is that?!
The 24-year-old revealed during her recent interview with Billboard that “Malibu” is all about Liam, and different from anything she’s done before. “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam,” she explained. “So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel?'”
In the interview, Miley revealed that she moved into Liam’s Malibu home when they got back together, which is where the inspiration for the song came from. Previously released lyrics include, “I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song” and “It’s a brand new start, a dream come true, in Malibu.” AHHH, we can’t wait to hear it!
