‘Pretty Little Liars’ is winding down, and star Lucy Hale has already got a new show lined up. ‘Life Sentence’ will premiere this fall on The CW, and the show sounds a lot like a Freeform series we loved. Get the details and check out the first photo of Lucy on set!
Lucy Hale’s new show Life Sentence has been ordered to series at The CW, our sister site Variety confirmed. The series will follow Lucy’s character, a young woman diagnosed with terminal cancer who finds out that she’s not actually dying. She has to learn to live with the choices she made when she was fully embracing Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying.”
Life Sentence sounds very similar to Freeform’s Chasing Life. That show revolved around April Carver (Italia Ricci) who was diagnosed with leukemia and vowed to embrace life despite her, well, life sentence. The show was beloved by fans, but was cancelled after two seasons.
We can’t wait to see Lucy tackle an all-new role. While we’ll always love Aria Montgomery, it’s so great to see Lucy expanding. The actress posted a photo taken while she was filming after Life Sentence got the official pick up.
“The face you make when your new pilot gets picked up,” she captioned the cute Instagram photo on May 11. “THANK YOU@thecw – @doozerproductions and to all involved. You have made Lucy a happy gal !!!! #lifesentence.”
Pretty Little Liars will come to an end after 7 seasons on June 27. But you won’t have to wait long to see Lucy on TV again!
