In less than four years, we could be saying that our president rocks — literally! Dwayne Johnson revealed on May 10 that there’s a ‘real possibility’ that he may transition from action star to politician.
Fans have been bringing up the idea of the lovable action hero Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 45, running for president for years now, but since the 2016 election he’s been giving the idea some real thought.
“A year ago it started coming up more and more,” he explained in his May 10 GQ interview. “There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’” When asked for a serious answer, he said “I think that it’s a real possibility.”
As a president, Dwayne would do his best to be something Donald Trump, 70, isn’t — communicative and fair. “Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important,” he explained. “Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them. The first thing we’d do is we’d come and sit down and we’d talk about it. It’s hard to categorize right now how I think he’s doing, other than to tell you how I would operate, what I would like to see.”
Dwayne is bothered by Trump’s reaction to the press, and he would have a totally different approach. “When there’s a disagreement, and you have a large group of people that you’re in a disagreement with—for example, the media—I feel like it informs me that I could be better,” he said. “I [would] take responsibility for everyone. Especially when you disagree with me. If there’s a large number of people disagreeing, there might be something I’m not seeing, so let me see it. Let me understand it.” Doesn’t that sound like an amazing change of pace?
The action star also considers himself a “feminist” raised by strong women, and says that he “completely disagrees” with Trump’s Muslim ban. Instead, he says “I believe in inclusion. Our country was built on that, and it continues to be made strong by that. And the decision felt like a snap judgment.” As for political party, Thr Rock says he’s an Independent and refused to endorse a party in the last election.
Fans are living for the idea of The Rock for president, and took to Twitter to share their glee and support:

May, 2022, I sit in my White House office, assessing the Rock's domestic policy successes thus far, remembering the Twitter naysayers.
