Zooey Deschanel‘s, 37, fam just expanded! Giving birth to a sweet baby boy, according to People magazine, the star, her husband Jacob Pechenik, and their 1-year-old daughter Elsie Otter, welcomed new addition Charlie Wolfe Pechenik into the world last week in LA. We can only imagine how thrilled the threesome must be! And how about that name? Clearly Zooey and Jacob have a thing for animal-inspired middle names!
“Zooey, Jacob and their daughter Elsie are overjoyed to welcome the newest member of their family,” Zooey’s rep told the publication. Aw! And while super private when it comes to her personal life, news of the New Girl star’s pregnancy first broke in December. With Elsie, Zooey and Jacob didn’t find out her sex until after she was born. So we’re wondering if they went the same route with baby Charlie!

Either way, Zooey clearly loves being a mom. In fact, just last year she gushed about parenthood to Redbook for their May cover story. “I’ve slowed things down a bit. I think it’s good for your whole self — your creative self, your professional self, and just your soul — to take a little time for yourself and your family,” the actress said. “I’ve never really felt like an adult. But I think it’s a huge accomplishment to have a child so maybe I feel like an adult for that reason!” And now she must feel like DOUBLE the adult! Congrats again, Zooey and Jacob!
