Things got country on the May 9 episode of ‘The Voice’ thanks to special guest performer, Maren Morris. The Grammy-winning singer took the stage to perform her new single, ‘I Could Use A Love Song,’ and absolutely KILLED it!
Maren Morris, 27, is one of the biggest new stars in country music, and on May 9, she performed her brand new hit, “I Could Use A Love Song,” on The Voice. The track is Maren’s third single off her 2016 debut album, Hero, and has the same rawness we’ve grown used to hearing from her.
The track is actually super emotional, and Maren channeled that perfectly while she vulnerably sang live on the NBC stage. Seriously, the contestants on this season of the show could learn a lot from how she puts her emotion into her performances, while still nailing every note! Oh, and let’s not forget to mention how stunning she looked with that flawless new pixie cut during the performance, too!
The past year has been an absolute whirlwind for Maren. After opening for Keith Urban all summer and fall, she totally blew up on the country music scene thanks to her songs “My Church” and “80s Mercedes.” She won the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, the ACM Award for New Female Vocalist of the Year and a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance — and this was all less than a year after she put out her album!
Things are only going to get better for Maren, too. This summer, she’ll hit the road with Sam Hunt, and she’s already teased that she’s working on new music. We can’t wait to hear it!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Maren’s performance on The Voice!?
