Megan wakes up and she’s still at the facility. That traitor Nina comes in and says this will be a great experience for her. Okay, getting kidnapped and forced against your will to stay at a facility is not exactly a great experience.

Nina and Megan sit down for a confessional-type thing. She makes Megan question her own happiness. Megan is convinced this is all Terence’s doing, and she’s right. Terence and Deann are watching Megan constantly. Deann wants to make sure everything with Megan is taken care of. She’s directly involved, and this all could spiral out of control very fast.

Nina presents Megan with a narrative board to help her build a “new narrative.” Megan continues to fight Nina. Finally, Nina snaps. “Nobody is coming for you,” Nina says. And she tells Megan that she can’t leave until she breaks down this narrative that is destroying her life.

Even with Megan at the IHM facility, Terence and Deann still have stuff to deal with concerning her. They meet up with Colton, the man extorting Megan. He’s still demanding $5 million and threatens to talk. Terence offers him $100,000 every few months, followed by $3 million a couple years down the road. That doesn’t suit Colton. He wants the money now. Deann doesn’t have time for this nonsense, so she lays down the law like a true boss. She refuses to give him any money and tells him that he’s lucky to be alive. If he doesn’t run and run fast, he’s going to end up dead.

An Escape & A Shocking Betrayal

Megan watches another person being brought to the facility, and she decides to make a run for it. She runs out to the van and hides in the back. The driver leaves the facility with Megan in tow. When he stops to pee, she runs into the woods. He runs after her, but IHM sends a drone to spot Megan. She finds a house in the middle of nowhere and thinks she’s safe. She quickly realizes that the woman is involved with IHM. When Megan runs out, Kyle’s there and Terence.

Kyle knew about the plan to bring Megan to the Institute, and I am floored. How could he do this to her?! I am so disappointed in him. He claims this is the “only way” they could be together. Kyle allows Terence’s henchman to inject Megan with a sedative and bring her back to the facility. You can tell Kyle is struggling with all of this, as he should. Terence tries to convince him to go back to LA and leave Megan so she can embrace the process. God, Terence is awful.

When Megan wakes up in a panic room, Terence is there. He goes on and on about how Megan has buried her true self and it’s held her back. He gives her a bottle of something that will help “open her mind.” She drinks it and dreams of the night she killed Evan.

She went to Hong Kong to confront him about what he did when she was 11. He raped her and it messed her up. He attempted to rape her again, and Megan just snapped. “It wasn’t self defense,” Megan cries when she wakes up. “It was payback.” (P.S. Colton later ends up dead. Cough, Terence totally did it, cough.)

A New Megan?

Deann tries to get Kyle back to business, but he can’t stop thinking about Megan. Deann thinks this is all just going to go along as planned, but Kyle’s not so sure.

Megan begins to embrace the process and Terence’s methods, but is it all an act?! Kyle’s playing the piano when Megan walks back into his life a changed woman. He apologizes for forcing her to go to the facility. He admits he just didn’t want to lose her. Megan doesn’t want his apologies. She says she finally feels free.

Terence says Megan’s not a 100%, but this is progress. Watch yourself, boy. Megan and Kyle walk their first red carpet since Megan’s transformation. Megan runs into Leslie, who also apologizes for not being able to stop Terence. Megan seemingly fires Leslie as she completes her big crossover to that IHM life.

Megan begins doing more workshops at the Institute. Shaun wants to talk to Megan about what happened at the facility. As much as she enjoys her job, her friendship with Megan means more. Knowing that, Megan opens up with a shocking confession.

“I went through hell to get back to Kyle and become part of the Institute,” she says. “And now I’m here and I need you ’cause I’m going to burn the whole thing down.” WHOA. Hold up. Is she talking about Kyle, too?! He did betray her, so he may not be saved from Megan’s wrath. I am BEYOND ready for season 2!
