The 2017 Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC on May 1 celebrated the work of designer Rei Kawakubo, 74, and Comme des Garçons, and the celeb set brought out a slew of avant-garde looks to support the theme, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.” Our fave celebs paid homage to the Japanese designer with their high-fashion frocks as they arrived on the red carpet for this year’s Met Gala — and they made a grand entrance! The star-studded party was the place to be, as everyone from Selena Gomez to Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Zendaya were in attendance — and on our Met Gala best dressed list!

The Met Gala is like the Super Bowl of fashion, and these leading ladies didn’t disappoint. Katy Perry had the honor of serving as co-chair, alongside Gisele and Tom Brady, and Katy opted for a statement look that totally had heads turning as she made her way down the red carpet, opting for a Maison Margiela ‘Artisanal’ designed by John Galliano. Katy made a grand entrance in a red wool coat and matching dress made of tulle and silk chiffon, while Gisele opted for a sleek silver gown complete with sexy side cutouts and an open back.
