Uh-oh. Someone let Rob Gronkowski on the loose again. The New England Patriots star made a guest appearance during the daily White House press briefing to offer Sean Spicer a hand. You got to see this.
No, this is not some strange Saturday Night Live skit with Melissa McCarthy, 45. Rob Gronkowski, 27, really did crash the April 19 press briefing. As Sean Spicer, 45, was fielding questions from reporters over the latest fiasco surrounding President Donald Trump, 70, there was a knock on the door leading into the White House pressroom. Suddenly, it was a random Gronk from outtanowhere!
“You need some help?” the New England Patriots tight end asked. Sean, not really sure what he was seeing, said he was good. After Gronk saw that Sean had this, he left. As reporters raised their hands, Sean had to take a moment to process what just happened. “Hold on,” he said, as his face broke out into a huge smile. “Alright. That was cool.”

This wasn’t just a wild random Gronk infestation in the White House, as the Patriots were in town to celebrate their Super Bowl 51 victory with the president. For Sean, it was a chance to meet his favorite team, as Jeremy Diamond of CNN (according to Bleacher Report) said that Spicer’s a big Patriots Fan. Wow. It’s nice to see Sean actually enjoy himself during the press briefing (instead of saying stupid things about Adolf Hitler or getting mocked for his fashion.)
It was also nice to see an actual Patriots player show up to the White House. Gronk, who was last seen helping his buddy Mojo Rawley, 30, score some major wins in the WWE, might have been the biggest name from the Super Bowl-winning team to attend this meeting.
Seven players skipped out on the trip: LeGarrette Blount, 30, Martellus Bennett, 30, Alan Branch, 32, Don’t’a Hightower, 27, Devin McCourty, 29, Chris Long, 32, and Tom Brady, 39. Brady’s decision was a last-minute surprise, as he’s tight with Donald. However, the Super Bowl MVP cited “family matters” as why he had to bow out. Well, why they didn’t have Brady, they had a face-full of Gronk, and that’s just as good.
Do you want to see Gronk crash more daily press briefings, HollywoodLifers?
