Oh no! President George H. W. Bush has been admitted to the hospital in Houston, TX on April 18 with a ‘mild case’ of pneumonia. This comes just 3 months after the illness forced the 92-year-old former president to spend 2 weeks in the ICU. Is he going to be okay?
George H. W. Bush, 92, is back in the hospital! KHOU reported on April 18 that the former president had been admitted to Methodist Hospital yet again with a “mild case” of pneumonia according to his spokesman Jim McGrath. Luckily he’s doing much better later in the day. “He is already well on the path to recovery and going home,” said McGrath.
“President George H. W. Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Friday for observation due to a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest,” a statement from his office explained. “It was subsequently determined he had a mild case of pneumonia, which was treated and has been resolved. President Bush is in very good spirits and is being held for further observation while he regains his strength.” Thank goodness!
This newest scare comes just three months after Bush was diagnosed with pneumonia in Jan., and spent 2 weeks in a hospital bed battling the vicious illness. It got so bad that we feared we might lose the former president, as he was on a ventilator and spent time in the ICU. His wife Barbara Bush was also admitted to the hospital. Luckily they survived that fight as well, and went on to do the pregame coin-toss at the Super Bowl at NRG Stadium in Feb.. We hope that George will recover from this bought with pneumonia quickly and feel better soon!
