Wade McIntosh, 47, and his daughters Maria, 19, and Olivia, 17, were sadly shot in the early hours of Friday, Apr. 7. Police responded to a call at 1 a.m in St. Paul, Minnesota. Wade, Maria, and Olivia were pronounced dead by paramedics, but the girls’ mother and Wade’s ex wife Anita was found still alive, according to CBS Minnesota. She is still in critical condition at Regions Hospital. Maria’s 18 month-old was no where to be found.
Police also discovered the father of Maria’s baby Jeffrey Jemaile Taylor, 20, dead near where the McIntosh family had been shot. He has been named a suspect. Investigators found Maria’s baby two hours later in a shed with Jeffrey’s half brother Jeffrey Arkis Taylor, 19, who has also been named as a suspect in the case. He was taken into custody and potentially could face kidnapping and additional charges on Monday.
“I’ve been saying for months now, you’re got to do something about Jeffrey” Eva Gardener, a family relative told KSTP that she had been worried about Maria’s relationship. “The daughters, for us, have got to be the hardest thing for us to accept that teenage girls, as pretty as they are with their whole future ahead of them are wasted,” Wade’s brother Jim Lore tearfully told the news outlet.
“I was just devastated,” Wade’s friend Pastor Paul Marzahn told CBS. “I was surprised, I mean, as anybody would be. It’s one thing to have a custody battle and argue about a child. It’s another thing to be that vindictive to take out a whole family,” he said. Paul said Wade called Maria and Olivia “the apple of [Wade’s] eye. “He just loved them,” he added. Wade had been sober for five years and had dedicated himself to helping others.
