Play ball! The 2017 MLB season is officially underway and the Los Angeles Dodgers are poised to dominate the summer. Keep reading to learn why the boys from LA will beat the Chicago Cubs in the playoffs and go on to win the 2017 World Series.
The Dodgers are built to win. These guys are deep with the best pitchers, sluggers, fielders and management in baseball. Before I get too heavy into my argument, I must give a disclaimer. I am from Los Angeles, have grown-up a Dodger fan and think they are going to win the World Series every year. But this season, I am not alone. Baseball experts across the country are agreeing with me and have the Dodgers at least winning their division, if not winning it all. Why? His name is Clayton Kershaw, 29, and he is the best pitcher in baseball. Check him out:
Clayton is a beast on the mound with crazy control. He is a strikeout machine that simply does not walk batters. During the 2016 season the kid from Texas had a unreal ERA of 1.69 on 12 wins and 4 losses with 172 K’s. He has a curve that is downright nasty, a beautiful, late-moving, four-seam fastball which can touch 98 and his slider baffles sluggers. Clayton battled injuries in 2016 and, if he stays healthy, can easily win his fourth Cy Young in 2017.
However, even without a healthy Clayton, the Dodgers are still built to win. Manager Dave Roberts had an amazing season last year, putting the club in the win column daily with one of the most inconsistent lineups in the National League. Dave will begin the season with a strong starting five and a young team of sluggers including Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Andrew Toles. Sprinkle in some veterans like Adrian Gonzalez and clutch hitter Andre Ethier and the Dodgers are locked and loaded for the summer. Oh, and don’t forget Yasiel, The Real Deal, Puig, who demands attention every time he digs into the batter’s box.
The competition will be tough. The 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and even the New York Mets all have strong clubs. But no team is built like the Dodgers who are my lock to win the 2017 World Series. So grab a Dodger Dog and enjoy the ride! Check out their opening day lineup:
