Ok, this was by far the best thing to happen at WrestleMania 33 Pre-Show. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski couldn’t help but jump in the ring to tackle a wrestler after he was provoked — WATCH!
Rob Gronkowski, 27, was clearly unsatisfied with his front-row seat at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, FL on April 2, because he felt the need to leave it during a heated moment at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. WATCH above!
As you can see in the vid, Gronk’s friend Mojo Rawley was fighting with Jinder Mahal as he was outside the ring, and the Pats star stood to cheer his pal on. That’s when Mahal threw his drink at Gronk…who jumped over the barrier and forced his way past security, into the ring! He then got in a three-point stance, shoulder tackling Mahal. Impressive.
Naturally, Mojo seized the opportunity to kick his opponent while he was down, and (after eliminating Killian Dane) he threw down Mahal. Winner!
Understandably, fans freaked out over the shocking (not to mention hilarious) moment. “No second career for an athlete has ever been more no-brainer than @RobGronkowski becoming a professional wrestler,” @FitzyGFY tweeted. “After this I have no hope for the rest of the show,” another fan wrote, clearly considering Rob’s ring debut to be the crowning moment of the night. Agreed!
“I think I broke skin on my hand,” Gronk joked after the match. We’re sure he’ll recover. He certainly looked just fine backstage:
