The world needs more light and joy these days and Little Big Town is here to deliver. The quartet of powerhouse voices performed ‘Happy People’ at the Academy of Country Music Awards and left us feeling totally inspired.
Little Big Town was truly one of the most anticipated performances at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2. With rumors of bright colors and incredible production, the four-person band certainly gave the audience all they wanted and more! With a performance of their song “Happy People” from their newest album The Breakers, Little Big Town shared a message of happiness and love.
With a totally retro backdrop of bright, blooming flowers, the group provided a catchy performance of their newest song. Filled with “ooohs” and a great drum beat, the song had the entire audience on their feet and clapping along. Not to mention, the ladies of the group’s outfits were absolute FIRE! Along with the blossoming floral scene, the ladies were clad in hot pink, bright blue and more sparkles. What a moment!
In an interview leading up to the ACMs, the quartet, made up of Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman and Phillip Sweet, shared what has kept them together through the years. “We’re family,” Fairchild said to CBS. “We’ve, like, experienced the greatest highs and the most horrible lows. And we’ve always been together.”
“We looked at each other at a certain point. It’s, like, we’re just gonna keep showin’ up and keep out-workin’ everybody. If that’s what we have to do, then we’ll do it,” Westbrook, who’s married to Fairchild, added.
The ACM Awards, hosted by Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan, was filled with more amazing performances by iconic country stars including Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
