The ‘This Is Us’ cast attended their second PaleyFest panel on March 18, and the night was filled with laughs, tears, and surprises. From teasing season 2 to refuting some of those crazy theories about Jack’s death, we’re highlighting the entire panel for you!

*Filming that fight scene in the finale wasn’t easy.
Milo Ventimiglia, 39, and Mandy Moore, 32, both said that filming the fight was “painful.” Mandy added, “It was intense.” Susan Kelechi Watson watched Milo and Mandy film it! “I was watching with popcorn backstage,” she said.

*Mandy and Milo role-playing as Tami and Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights = INCREDIBLE.
Moderator Kristin Dos Santos brought up that Jack and Rebecca are being compared to beloved TV couple Eric and Tami Taylor. “They are the ultimate,” Mandy said. The pair reenacted a scene from Friday Night Lights ON THE SPOT.

*The season 2 scoop we’ve been waiting for…
The cast and producers couldn’t say much, but EP Glenn Ficarra did offer up this: “We’ve gotten to see Jack from a certain perspective, we might get him from another perspective.” He also noted that season 2 is an “endless canvas.”

*Susan Kelechi Watson on Randall wanting to adopt.
“I think it’s going to be a big conversation,” she said. “There’s so many things he [Randall] wants to explore… I can understand him wanting to be more like William. I don’t know how much she is ready for an adoption.”

*Justin Hartley on Kevin and Sophie in season 2
“I know I want him to get what he wants,” Justin, 40, said. “I wish he was a little better at getting by than he is… Hopefully he’ll get the girl and the movie.”

*Both Miguel and Dr. K made surprise appearance during the panel!

*The cast was asked to say one good thing about Miguel:
Executive producer John Requa said right off the bat, “He has a lustrous head of hair.” Glenn Ficarra joked and sent fans into a frenzy when he said this, “I forgive him for killing Jack.” (You guys, he’s joking.)

Sterling K. Brown, 40, noted that Miguel is the only grandfather, other than William, that Randall’s kids have ever known from his side of the family. “He’s treated them very, very well,” he said. Milo, who has always been a champion of Miguel, said, “He gave Kevin some confidence… He was always there for Jack in his tough situations.” Mandy followed up with, “He was there for Kevin in his moment of need.”

Jon Huertas, 40, teased that we’re going to learn more about Miguel as the show goes on. “I wanna know his kids at,” Sterling added. Touche!

*The cast knows how Jack died & discredited some theories.
Sterling refuted the theory that Jack died in the September 11 attacks, and the cast pretty much denied another plane crash theory. Jon shook his head when the Miguel murdered Jack theory was brought up. Chrissy Metz, 36, was taken aback by the Kate accidentally killing Jack theory. Justin offered a spin on the Jack is still alive idea: “He’s raising Miguel’s kids.”

*Milo teared up talking about his own father
When Milo was asked what inspires him in playing Jack, he started crying talking about his own father, who was sitting in the audience. Milo said there’s not a day that goes by when he doesn’t think about the things his father did and the sacrifices he made for his family.
