‘DWTS’ has got one sexy cowboy competing for the mirror ball trophy in season 24. Bonner Bolton is going from the bull riding arena to the dance floor with partner Sharna Burgess. Before the premiere on March 20, here’s everything you need to know about Bonner!

1. He nearly died while bull riding.
Bonner Bolton, 29, suffered a near-fatal accident in Jan. 2016 when he was bucked off the back of a bull and landed on his head while riding. He broke his neck, specifically his C-2 vertebrae. The Texas native was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down, but he regained feeling in his limbs. He underwent spinal fusion surgery and had a metal frame inserted around his vertebra. Despite getting movement back in his limbs, he had to stay completely still for a month and learn to walk again.

2. He’s a model!
This is not surprising. Bonner is one sexy stud! Only four months after his accident, he signed with IMG Models. He was notably photographed by Mario Testino, 61, for V magazine.

3. His chemistry with DWTS partner Sharna Burgess was instant.
Bonner admits that he was stunned when he met Sharna, 31, for the first time after being paired together for season 24 of DWTS. “I looked up and saw her and I was a little bit speechless, I have to say,” he told PEOPLE. “Obviously, everyone is telling me how great of a partner I have, but I think it’s pretty easy to see — she’s not hard on the eyes!”

4. He has a connection to Scott Eastwood.
Scott did ride a bull in The Longest Ride scenes, but for the harder scenes, Bonner was Scott’s stunt double.

5. He’s not ruling out getting on a bull again.
Even though he nearly died while bull riding, it’s what Bonner loves. He knows going back to bull riding isn’t the safest idea, but he’s not turning down the idea completely. “No sane doctor is going to let someone with the hardware that’s in my neck get on a bull,” Bonner told PBR. “It’s hard to contemplate the prospect of maybe never again doing what I love so much.  My most recent ride could be one that I didn’t expect to be my last. I’m going to have to be the same athlete or better before I go back. Can I get there? Those are the questions swimming around my head every day. I’ll make the decision when that time comes and be at peace with it.”

Dancing With the Stars season 24 premieres March 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
