Crossover alert! One of the most villainous weapons used to kill people on ‘The Walking Dead’ made a surprising appearance on ‘Supernatural’ that you HAVE to see. Plus, we can explain the connection!
On Friday, March 10, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively) paid tribute to their dad, once portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, on a brand new episode of Supernatural. In an opening scene, the brothers are walking into their home while Dean is carrying a baseball bat covered in barbed wire. “Man, dad loved this thing,” he says, holding it up to examine it before setting it down on the table.
A baseball bat covered in barbed wire is Negan’s weapon of choice on The Walking Dead, where Jeffrey is now a featured cast member. Although Jeffrey is definitely missed on Supernatural, it’s pretty cool that they were able to incorporate his new character’s signature weapon in an episode. That is some major world colliding for those fans who love both shows!
This isn’t the first time that the guys from Supernatural have mentioned losing their TV dad to The Walking Dead. In October 2016, Jensen tweeted a picture of himself holding Lucille to Jeffrey asking if he could keep it. Jeffrey’s answer? Nope, not a chance!
So far there has been no reference of Supernatural on The Walking Dead, but hopefully this is just the beginning of a beautiful relationship filled with many nods from one incredible show to another. Fingers crossed!
